This entire piece is constructed from a one second recording of the clock in my bathroom. It is varisped down to 16x and up to 1/128x. I created playlists consisting of everything from one second down and everything from one second up and loaded them into various players and played them randomly. I was surprised to hear that the list with the shorter files was evidently getting stuck in the same pattern for extended periods of time. I further exploited this glitch by loading the list more heavily with a given element the shorter the time segment. I then recorded the result, performed a spectrum analysis on the file and generated a drone based on the dominant frequencies. The final piece is a rendering of these two files.
