Silence and Respect

about

For some time, I've wanted to do a piece for Memorial Day.

I have made use of the following sources:

A Berliner Gramophone disc from 1989:

Emil Cassi: Bugle Calls by Chief Trumpeter Cassi of Roosevelt's Rough Riders #3

This recording is a re-enactment of bugle calls sounded at San Juan Hill, Santiago, Cuba, July 1, 1898 containing two renditions of Taps:

* Taps as sounded at the graves of Sergeant Hamilton Fish, Jr., and Captain Capron, June 24, 1898 at Las Guasismas.

* Taps sounded at the grave of Captain Bucky O’Neil, July 1, 1898.

---------------------------------------

Taps as performed in Arlington National Cemetery by The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own"

---------------------------------------

The US Army firing a 17 Gun Salute using cannons at Arlington National Cemetery. I did some very heavy editing of this audio in order to rework it into a three-volley salute.

The artwork is taken from the signage at Arlington and Gettysburg National Cemeteries.

With gratitude...

about

Radio Landscape

I live in Milwaukee, WI with my wife and our four children. The creation of music has long been an avocational pursuit of mine. The body of work that I offer under the moniker of Radio Landscape has obvious antecedents in American minimalism specifically and electronic music in general.

Thank you for your interest.
